@anjoLas Olive oil is a drying oil, this means as it is exposed to oxygen, it polymerizes. When it starts polymerizes it becomes a gummy mess, eventually becoming almost solid. Once inside your stone, it will sit in the pores of the stone, and become that mess. This will change the feel of the stone at best, at worst make it impossible to sharpen on. Avoid any vegetable oils. Use non-drying oils like mineral oil.

What are you talking about? I use a straight razor and I can assure you I never slide...that's the recipe to cut your face. But it does still cut the hairs.

It's whetstone, and you can use oil on water stones much of the time.

Yes but scissors have a different profile than a knife, a knife has two edges to make it’s final sharpness, scissors only have one, take the scissors apart into two pieces if possible and take a whetstone/oil stone (like the one shown in the video, soak or oil it, and flatten the back of the scissors until the have a consistent surface and a bur on the sharp edge, the fix the angled edge by making them 45 degrees or so again, once the bur has formed on that side run it up and down a leather belt or razor strop, viola sharp again! Then put the scissors back together
